Dear Parents/Carers

Harvest Festival and Traditions

Week Commencing Monday 12 October 2015

As part of our work in RE and PSHCE, we will be talking about Harvest festivals and traditions, and linking this to our month’s value of sharing and helping those who are less fortunate than ourselves. Following the tremendous success that we had last year, we would again like to make a collection of food items for charity.  Our chosen charity this year is again Stopsley Baptist Church FoodWorks, which operates as an outreach ministry to those in

need in our community.

We would be grateful for any food donations that you feel able to make to this worthy

cause.  We would request that items be non-perishable, i.e. tinned, packet or

dried items, rather than fresh fruit or vegetables.  These items will be put into our

Harvest display in the hall until the following week, when they will then be transported

to Stopsley Baptist Church.

Starting on Monday 12 October 2015, items can be sent in with your child before

school (between 8.45 and 8.55am) on any morning that you choose, and you may

accompany your child to the hall to see the developing display and add your donation.

In addition to this we are also taking part in a sponsorship to provide sweet potato seeds to people in Africa. This helps our children to understand that we can help to make a difference across the world.

We would like to thank you in advance for your help and support.

Yours sincerely

G Turner (Mrs)
