Harvesting our vegetables and Dinner Day

Harvesting our vegetables and ‘Dinner Day’

There is always great excitement when the time comes to dig, pick and prepare our vegetables ready for the school kitchen! Squeals of delight and wonder as potatoes and carrots –some funny shaped ones- were unearthed during blue class’s environmental studies today!

All the vegetables in the garden are grown, cared for and harvested by the children during environmental studies and some playtimes.

Today’s harvesting of potatoes, carrots, beetroot and greens was in preparation for tomorrow’s annual ‘Dinner Day’- a lunchtime when some parents or grandparents accompany their children to taste our school grown veg and delicious meal prepared by Mrs. Perrot.

Everyone agreed that the meal was yummy ending with lots of empty plates !

Thank you again Mrs. Perrott and your team for all the extra cooking.
