This week’s news.

  • This half term’s value of Thoughtfulness was introduced in Assembly on Monday. The children are receiving tokens to go into our reward pots if they display thoughtfulness to others.
  • The book fair was open after school from Tuesday to Friday and a large number of books were sold, which just shows that despite the technological world we live in our children still love books!
  • All the children have started practising Christmas play songs. It is my favourite time of year as I can listen to their singing throughout the day, as I work in my office.
  • Year 1 and 2 had parent consultations and Year R had an informal drop in evening. As usual, most parents attended.
  • On Thursday the PTA met to do some more Christmas Fair planning. It was lovely to see two new members! We have some amazing raffle prizes with £100 cash being the first prize. Well worth buying some. Remember, you can get more raffle books from the office if you need more.
  • We had a whole school Remembrance assembly on Friday and the children learnt a little about Remembrance Day. To reinforce what they have learnt, perhaps they could watch the Remembrance parade to the cenotaph on television.
  • The Copper Challenge has been a huge success and the competition is ‘hotting up’ between the classes! Keep those 1p and 2p’s coming.

Next Week - beginning Monday 13th November

  • Next week will be a little quieter in school which will be good, before the gradual build up to Christmas.
  • Mandy and Zoe are running Let’s get cooking after school on Tuesday.
  • The ECO team are meeting on Wednesday.
  • Friday is Non-Uniform Day in exchange for a Tombola prize please. It can be as little or as much as you can manage.

Year R are asked to bring in something for the general Tombola, such as pack of cards, wrapping paper, new unwanted gifts.

Year 1 are asked to bring in either chocolate or sweets.

Year 2 are asked to bring in a bottle of anything, wine, shampoo, tomato sauce, juice.

We will of course be grateful for anything you think may be suitable.
