Monday 23 May 2016
This year the educational visit for Year 2 will be to Wicksteed Park, Kettering on Friday 24 June 2016.
As you are aware, our summer trips have been increasingly subsidised by the school in order to keep the cost per child at £10. Once again this year, transport and entrance costs have risen and we are reluctantly having to charge you a little more for the trip. The cost of the visit will now be £15 per child. It is still very good value for money as the children get so much from the day.
Can I remind parents that unlike most schools, we do not charge for any of the many extra-curricular events we provide, such as visiting theatre groups, workshops and sports coaching.
Although the charge is voluntary, we can only run these trips if enough parents contribute towards the cost. I hope you can appreciate our reasons for the increase and will continue to support us.
Any parent who feels unwilling or unable to make a voluntary contribution should please speak in confidence to Mrs P Brown.
Please note, for those parents/carers who currently claim Pupil Premium are exempt from making a contribution as the cost will be met by the Pupil Premium Grant.
All the children will be provided with a healthy packed lunch and a drink on the day unless you inform us that you will provide your child with their own healthy packed lunch, including a drink in a disposable carton (no glass bottles or fizzy drinks please) in a disposable named carrier bag. Please fill in the form below and overleaf and return by Monday 13 June 2016 latest. No spending money will be required. No sweets please.
□ My child will have a healthy school packed lunch
The school packed lunch will consist of
- Roll - Box of raisins
- Packet of crisps - Fruit
- Biscuits - Bottle of Water
□ I will provide my child with a healthy packed lunch brought to school in a named, disposable bag.
The coaches (all fitted with seatbelts) will leave school at 9.15 am prompt and should be back at about 3.15 pm, so the children should arrive at school at the normal time and be collected at the normal time.
Children will need to wear school uniform, with a light coat or jacket suitable for the weather on the day of the trip, and sensible shoes or trainers – no open-toed sandals please. If the weather is hot then please put sun cream on your child before school and remember to send a sun hat. Kindly complete the permission slip below and return with the money to school by Monday 13 June 2016 latest.
If you have any other questions or concerns then please talk to your child’s class teacher.
